thats schocking

earlier today my little brother brought out a shocking game, literally. there is a light in the center of the stand, and it flashes red and has sounds coordinating with the flashes. then, at a random point, the light turns green. when the last person to press the button when the light turns green gets a little shock, just like those shocking joke pens. i thought that maybe this was related to what we are learning but its really related to battery stuff. Basically there is a transformer in there to regulate the amount of voltage. when the field in the transformer changes, voltage is created. when you push that button last, you feel the voltage exerted from either moving or changing the strength of the magnetic field.
oh and on another note, i practiced my cling wrap skills today so i am officially better than katie at ripping off pieces.

japanese festival

last sunday i had to help out making okonomiyaki at the japanese festival. on the outside of the okonomiyaki, there is a layer of egg and on the other side, there is batter. we made the batter by scooping the batter from a laddle and pouring it on the stove. they started from the middle and worked their way out, making circles. i noticed that she was going at a constant velocity so the bigger the circle was, the slower the angular velocity. after working i walked around the park and saw many cool things. then i ran into my little cousin playing on a jumper. there i saw potential energy turning into kenetic energy when she jumped down from the top and slid to the bottom.
